When you join our team of carers you will have ongoing training. A thorough training schedule has been designed to ensure that you will have a really good understanding of what the role of a carer is and what will be expected from you on a day-to-day basis.
The training will lead you through a number of classroom sessions and practical activities designed specifically to give you the skills and knowledge to ensure that you are happy and confident in your role. When you complete training you will be ready to join our team.

- The role of the carer, your duties, responsibilities and how we deliver them in the Fitzpatrick way
- Our values and beliefs at Fitzpatrick
- Personal care
- Manual handling
- Abuse and safeguarding
- Cooking and mealtimes
- Health and safety
- First aid
The training has been designed to make sure that every one gets involved and has the opportunity to ask as many questions as they need to. Our training team are on hand in breaks and at lunchtimes to answer any questions and to provide one-to-one support if required.
